I was drawn to this project because I am interested in the intersection of economics and history. This American Predatory Lending Bass Connections team studies the 2008 Housing Crisis from many unique lenses, and I was eager to expose myself to not only the content of the project, but also the different types of analysis employed by the team to uncover the causes and effects of the crisis. In my first semester with the team during the fall of 2021, I worked on a business case study that analyzed First Franklin, a notable subprime mortgage lender. In my second semester, I officially worked with the oral history team, but worked various roles, researching and interviewing notable figures associated with the crisis, and constructing a glossary for the website.
