Dave Park, a licensed contractor, home inspector, and real estate agent in North Carolina discusses his memories of the financial crisis. He elaborates on the state of the real estate market during and after the crisis from the perspective of a builder and home inspector. Park describes business practices amongst home inspectors, realtors, and appraisers during both buying frenzies and recessions and how he perceived lending practices changing to meet demand and limited housing inventory. He also describes the changing licensing processes for home inspectors in the wake of the crisis, including the elimination of the apprentice program for new home inspectors.

Dave Park became involved in the home inspection business in 2004/2005 and currently owns Revere Construction Management, Williams & Park, and Advantage Inspection. He began work as a home builder in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1988 and used his experience in home building alongside his real estate agent licensing to inform his work as a home inspector.
