As an undergraduate student at Duke University, Ridge Ren majored in economics with a minor in political science. He contributed to the data team. He worked on extracting state Mortgage Enforcement Action files and writing the report on MEAs for the state of Washington. He was interested in the project due to a desire to understand the housing crisis from a state level.
